The town sits in the foothills of the Howgill Hills – a paradise for keen walkers – and is also within easy reach of long-distance trails such as the Dales Way and Pennine Way. Day trips from the cottage include the picture-postcard village of Dent (7 miles), along with Lake District highlights such as Lake Windermere and Grizedale Forest (both within 30 miles).
The stone cottage still retains many of its original features, including stone flooring and beamed ceilings. The decor is traditional and complements the period of the property. On the ground floor you’ll find a welcoming lounge with wooden floors and an array of comfortable seating set around an ornamental fireplace and a Smart TV. This room also has a quiet reading nook for curling up with a good book. Double doors from the lounge lead through to the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner (down a step), where you’ll find everything needed to rustle up hearty feasts for the group. Next to the window is a large, wooden dining table for hosting dinner parties and special occasions. A handy utility room completes the ground floor. Heading upstairs, two inviting bedrooms await.
