Surrounded by the old orchard and looking at the La Plata Mountains you will find peace and quiet with stars shining so bright you can see the Milky Way across the night sky. There is a fire pit and a pond complete with a small doc for crawdad fishing, or just to listen to the frogs chirp in the evening. A short 9 mile drive to Downtown Durango offers so much to explore and so many restaurants to choose from. Or just relax and explore our farm. We have horses, mules, cows, chickens, cats and the best farm dog ever.
The Airstream has two beds, one full and one queen plus. It works well for a couple or two adults and one kid. We have appointed it with nice linens bedding. There is a toilet, and a hot shower. Maple cabinets, gas stove, microwave and refrigerator. The interior has hickory flooring and gleaming polished metal. So warm and cozy with electric heat. Marshal stereo with blue tooth rocks the Silver Fox! and pairs with the TV hidden in a cabinet, perfect for cozy movie night. There is an awning and an outdoor dinning table under the trees. Glamping at a whole new level of Lux.
You can enjoy the whole orchard. Just be careful around the pond and never let your kids in the fenced pond area without adult supervision.
We live up the road on our farm so we are usually around.
We may provide a porta potty for longer term stays and could require guests to use it.
- SILVER FOX DIRECTIONS 1. LOCATION: The SILVER FOX is located at 89 Sun Mesa Lane, Durango, CO 81303. It is a 1954 Airsteam Safari 22’ camper. 2. CONTACT: Please call us if you need anything, or have any questions. You can call or text Holly Jason, Owner, Casa Durango LLC directly at 970-749-9636 or Ben Jason at 970-749-2453. Or you can always message us though AIRBNB, or VRBO/Home Away. 1. HOME AWAY: You will receive an invitation via email for the Home Away App that you can put on your phone. This gives you access to everything from the code to the door, driving directions, to all our local suggestions, hikes, restaurants etc. Of course you can also always call or text us if you have questions. 2. PARKING: There is one parking space along the Sun Mesa Lane with a sign that says SILVER FOX. There is a short path to the Airstream. 3. THE WI-FI network is the “SILVER FOX” and the password is “guesthouse”. 4. HEAT: There is an electric heater just inside the door. 5. A/C: In the summer there is an Air Conditioner in the ceiling. 6. DRAINS: Please do not clog the drains or toilet with excess food matter, diapers, feminine products etc. TRASH: Please take your trash to the end of Sun Mesa Lane where it will be picked up on Fridays. Don’t leave trash outside the door as animals might get into it. 7. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS: There is a fire extinguisher mounted in the kitchen. 8. BBQ: Please be careful lighting the BBQ. Use an “aim-n-flame” which is provided in the kitchen. Turn off the gas when you are done. Let us know if it runs out of propane. SILVER FOX HOUSE POLICIES 1. CHECK IN TIME: is after 4 pm, and CHECK OUT TIME is at 10 am. This agreement does not create a Tenancy or Residency. You must depart at the appropriate time. 2. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: is limited to 4 Adults. 3. CLEANING: Please do your dishes before you leave. We reserve the right to charge you’re an extra fee for cleaning if the property is left excessively dirty. 4. NO SMOKING is allowed in the house or property. No Candles, Incense, or fire of any kind in the house or property. NO FIRE ARMS are allowed on the property. 5. IF YOU HAVE PETS, please do not leave them unattended unless you trust them completely. Please do not let them damage anything! If you need a crate for your dog let us know as we have loaners. Please clean up after your dog. Please make sure your dog does not disturb the neighbors by barking. Please check the fence yourself and make sure your dog is not going to escape. If you need Doggy Day Care we recommend Healthy Hounds and Fat Cats at 970-375-9700. 6. PET CLEANING FEE: AIRBNB does not have a spot to put in a pet fee. We do require a $50 pet fee so we will request it from you if you have a pet. 7. SUBSTITUTION: In the event that the property reserved becomes unavailable for any reason Casa Durango, LLC will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate Guest in a comparable property. If no alternative property is available that is suitable for your needs, Casa Durango, LLC will refund all payments and deposits in full and no further obligation expected of either party. 8. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS: Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance. 9. DAMAGE: Casa Durango, LLC reserves the right to charge for any damages to the property. 10. NEIGHBORS: Please respect the neighbors by not making too much noise, and by just being a good friendly neighbor.
SPECIAL EVENTS: If you would like to have a party, wedding, or event you may discuss it with Holly Jason and she will quote you a price. Any special events must be agreed upon in writing beforehand.
